She originally began her journey with portrait photography, focusing on the South Asian community to address the gap in editing techniques that failed to highlight brown skin tones effectively. This approach allowed her to celebrate her culture and capture the beauty and diversity of her subjects. As her craft evolved, Rupa found solace in photography, which brought her peace and a deeper connection to her surroundings as she traveled the world. She skillfully blends her cultural heritage with her passion for mental health advocacy in the South Asian community, crafting images that evoke introspection and tranquility. Rupa shoots on multiple different cameras, with a focus on Nikon DSLRs as well as film and digital photography.
