About the Artist:
Pothik Chatterjee is a gay South Asian abstract artist based in Baltimore, who is inspired by the intersection of Bengali-American culture, Hindu spirituality, and LGBTQ identity, creating a unique perspective and vision for restorative healing. His work has been sold to collectors internationally, featured at SAAFC events, and is currently displayed at Miason 10 in Chelsea, NYC and Highlandtown Gallery in Baltimore, MD. He won the inaugural SAAFC Artist award in March 2024.
Pothik has been open about his mental health struggles related to coming out, and also navigating IVF and surrogacy with his partner, all of which can be sources of shame and repression in the South Asian community.
