About the Artist:

Urbashee is an economist by training, but at her core, she is an artist. She began drawing and painting at a very young age, but amidst the pressure of school and work, she had inadvertently taken over a decade-long hiatus from art. In January 2023, after suffering through a dark time, Urbashee picked up a charcoal pencil and began healing through art. She realized then how much she had missed this part of her, and how art truly is her passion. Since then, Urbashee has produced numerous charcoal pieces — each portraying women who evoke a deep emotion in the viewer: of hope, determination, lust, love, relief, etc. Urbashee currently works as an economist at a litigation consulting firm in NYC after receiving her doctorate in economics from Northeastern University. Outside of her career and art, she enjoys learning Hindustani classical vocal, exploring the NY food scene, and traveling internationally to learn about new cultures.
